Online sake brewery study abroad
Would you like to study abroad online at a sake brewery with Daiichiro Baba, the 8th generation owner of "Baba Sake Brewery" in Kashima City, Saga Prefecture, and Shuichiro Baba, the 9th generation owner?♪
This time, we will be holding a meeting with the theme of "[Family inheritance] Learning about locally produced sake for local consumption"!
Baba Sake Brewery
“Local sake rooted in Saga culture”
Founded in 1795 (Kansei 7).
This sake brewery is located in the Nogomi district of Kashima City, Saga Prefecture, and has been producing only refined sake for over 200 years since its establishment.
In this online sake brewery study abroad program,
①Local famous sake “Nogomi Junmai Ginjo”
② New product “Junmai Ginjo Ariake Sea Isolated Yeast (currently a pseudonym)” brewed with yeast isolated from the Ariake Sea and bred and improved
③ ``Nogomi'' is brewed in an ``environmental conservation area'' that protects Kashima's ``rice terraces'' and ``tidal flats.''
By delivering three types of sake, we will take a closer look at the thoughts and efforts of Baba Sake Brewery, which has been handed down from generation to generation.
“Why do we make alcohol that is locally produced and consumed locally?”
"From parents to children. What do we convey through sake brewing?"
We are looking forward to your participation in our online sake brewery study abroad program, which will provide you with deep learning!

Hands-on box delivered to you

●Nogomi ~Goen~ 180ml
This sake is made using Kita-Kashima's Sagabiyori (environmental protection grade) to protect Kashima's rice terraces and tidal flats from disasters.
Environmentally friendly rice is rice that has been produced by increasing the soil fertility of the rice fields and reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides. Rather than being flashy, it has a gentle flavor that goes well with meals and will keep you drinking.
●Nogomi Junmai Ginjo 180ml
The most popular alcoholic beverage is Nogomi. This Junmai Ginjo is made using Yamada Nishiki from local Kashima, and is filled with the thoughts of the farmers and ourselves. Although the sake has a fruity aroma, it has a strong Yamada Nishiki flavor that goes perfectly with food. Although it is a Junmai Ginjo, it is delicious even when slightly warmed.
●Junmai Ginjo Ariake Sea Isolated Yeast (Currently Kana) 180ml
Saga University and the Prefectural Industrial Technology Center are conducting research on yeast (bacteria) that are highly suited for brewing and have been isolated from the prefecture's natural world, such as the tidal flats of the Ariake Sea and strawberries, in order to make use of them in Saga's unique sake brewing. A new sake brewed with yeast isolated from the Ariake Sea and bred and improved.
●Sanpuku seaweed salted seaweed (best quality) 70g
``A masterpiece that won 2nd place in the 2019 Snack Grand Prix chosen by Japanese sake professionals.'' ``Shionori'' is made from carefully selected flavorful ``Saga seaweed'' that is grilled and finished in the style of Korean seaweed with sesame oil and salt. It's perfect as an accompaniment to alcohol, and once you try it, you won't be able to stop eating it!
