This time's recommendation
Takeda Sake Brewery started its sake brewing business at a fishing boat dock called Kamikofunatsu in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, in 1866 (Keio 2) at the end of the Edo period.
The representative brand ``Katafune'', which has remained unchanged since its founding, is written in kanji as ``Katafune'', which is proof that it is a local sake that was born and loved in the area.
When talking about Niigata Prefecture's sake, people often think of it as ``light and dry, like water,'' but the sake produced by Takeda Sake Brewery has a rich and rounded ``sweet yet crisp deep flavor.''
We believe that you can enjoy the tradition and pride of a sake brewery that focuses on deliciousness, as well as our attempts at innovation, from every angle.

Reason for introducing Takeda Sake Brewery
The third part of the Hokuriku support series is Niigata Prefecture, which is one of the four prefectures in Hokuriku, along with Ishikawa, Fukui, and Toyama.
As you know, Niigata Prefecture is the ``Sake Kingdom'' with 88 breweries and the highest annual consumption per person in Japan, so it feels like it is too late for this hands-on introduction to sake.
However, we are where we are today because of our desire to visit sake breweries that we didn't yet know about, and to promote the sake breweries that sell them.
Yes, in mid-February, we visited Hokuriku on a support visit for the Noto Peninsula earthquake. At that time, Haruki Takeda, the 10th generation owner of Takeda Sake Brewery, was the first person in Niigata to welcome Masuda, the hands-on representative, and Kokado, the moderator.

In fact, “Katafune” has won the trophy for the highest award in the SAKE category of the world-famous wine fair “IWC (International Wine Challenge)” in 2013, 2015, and 2019.
To be honest, Mr. Takeda spoke kindly and politely to us, who didn't even know about this, and we got a glimpse of the sake brewing process.

Takeda Sake Brewery's belief is, "We don't cut corners!"
Mr. Takeda is also a man with a strong spirit for challenges, seeking a ``new Niigata'' that is different from the past, and working together with local farmers and liquor stores to produce sake.
We have prepared sake that has been recognized around the world and rare sake that is the result of our efforts.
Why not toast with sake that enlivens the Japanese sake brewery!
This time's sake
●Special Honjozo Katafune (180ml)
A fragrant dish that has a deep flavor and a light texture that goes down the throat, and can be enjoyed hot or cold, making it a highly fragrant dish that anyone can enjoy.
●MANDOBA (Takyu - Tayasumi -) *Pre-sale (180ml)
MANDOBA uses Gohyakumangoku, a sake rice grown in Mandoba, a small rain-fed field deep in the mountains of Yasuzuka, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture. The rice is grown without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and the rice is made with Kimoto, so no yeast is added. Japanese sake was created through the blessings of nature, from rice cultivation to sake brewing.
The MANDOBA series has been released in five varieties that express the seasonal activities of Yasuzuka's Satoyama.
